Eligible Chickasaw high school seniors can receive an honor cord to recognize their Chickasaw culture. Additionally, they can receive up to $300 for reimbursement of graduation expenses.
Applications for the high school senior expenses program are accepted year-round. The award year begins Oct. 1.
Eligible Chickasaw students can receive reimbursements up to $300 for senior expenses such as announcements, caps and gowns, class rings, letter jackets and senior pictures.
Reimbursements are available once per lifetime.
High school seniors can receive an honor cord to recognize their Chickasaw culture. High school honor cords are available once per lifetime.
Applications for the honor cord are due March 30 and are mailed by April 15.
The reimbursement will be distributed once on a nonreloadable Visa card. The amount awarded is determined by the amount documented on receipts.
For example:
Receipts must be dated within the award year, beginning Oct. 1. If receipts total less than the maximum award amount of $300, the remaining funds are not held in reserve and are no longer available for distribution.
Qualifying applicants will be notified with an award letter via the U.S. Postal Service.
The nonreloadable Visa card will be issued by mail and must be activated upon receipt.
