Program Overview

A wide variety of higher education grants, scholarships and incentives are available to eligible Chickasaw high school students who are preparing for their future.

Who Can Apply

  • Chickasaw Nation residents or Chickasaws at-large

  • Spring: Dec. 1-Feb. 15
  • Summer: May 1-July 1
  • Fall: July 1-Sept. 15

College Readiness Support

ACT/SAT Reimbursement
Assists with exam costFrequency based on grade level

Assists with ACT/SAT fees once annually for freshmen/sophomores and multiple times for juniors/seniors. Must submit receipts and application within six months.

AP Exam / CLEP Reimbursement
Assists with exam costPer exam

Reimburses students for AP or CLEP exam fees. For AP exams, funding is available for one attempt per subject. CLEP requires proof of satisfactory score for reimbursement.

Concurrent Enrollment Program
Assists with fees and booksPer term/semester

Supports high school juniors and seniors enrolled in at least three college credit hours. Covers fees and textbooks when tuition is covered by the state. Requires documentation including transcripts, detailed billing statement and class schedules.

ACT Prep Workshop Reimbursement
Assists with cost of workshopOne-time

Student may request reimbursement for ACT/SAT exam preparation, or vouchers for the Cargill ACT Prep workshop, which helps build proficiency and comfort with the ACT. Reimbursement is received by submitting high school transcript and a copy of the receipt within six months of payment. Alternatively, students can request a voucher provided by the Higher Education office as payment for the workshop.

  • Chickasaw Nation Residents Chickasaws At‑Large
    The youth services clothing grant program provides $350 annually to eligible Chickasaw students to purchase school clothes. Purchases are limited to clothing only. Must be a Chickasaw citizen between ages 3 to 18.
  • Chickasaw Nation Residents Chickasaws At‑Large
    Aspiring young artists are immersed in an exploration of various artistic fields, career preparatory programming and student-oriented skill development. The academy provides an opportunity for students to learn about contemporary and traditional Chickasaw and Southeastern First American art in a variety of mediums that inspires exploration of the artistic process in writing, performing and visual arts. Applicants must be a Chickasaw youth, dependent of a Chickasaw citizen or a previous attendee. Additional eligibility requirements may apply.
  • Chickasaw Nation Residents Chickasaws At‑Large
    This 10-month leadership program offers Chickasaw youth leadership, business and cultural development courses, a variety of community service opportunities and hands-on experience in leadership environments. Applicants must be a Chickasaw citizen, 14-18 years of age and meet academic eligibility requirements.
  • Chickasaw Nation Residents Chickasaws At‑Large
    Chickasaw students are eligible for funding assistance with expenses related to participation in extracurricular activities, driver’s education, reimbursement for some expenses related to graduation and honor cords for qualified graduates. Applicants must be Chickasaw citizens. Students must be high school seniors to apply for the high school senior expenses and honor cord programs.
  • Chickasaw Nation Residents Chickasaws At‑Large
    Assistance with driver education, training and examinations are available to equip eligible Chickasaw citizens with the necessary skills to obtain an Oklahoma driver's license or farm driver’s permit. Applicant must be a Chickasaw citizen who is at least 15 years of age for a state license or 13½ for a farm permit. Additional eligibility requirements may apply.
  • Chickasaw Nation Residents
    The FIRST Robotics Competition is a sport of the mind designed to help high school students discover the interesting and rewarding life of engineers and researchers. Students focus on design, demonstrate team spirit, professionalism, maturity and the ability to overcome obstacles. Applicants must have at least one year experience in the FIRST Tech Challenge and be entering grades 10-12. Chickasaw preference is exercised.
  • Chickasaw Nation Residents
    FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) is designed for youth who want to compete head-to-head in robotics using a sports model. Teams, including coaches, mentors and volunteers, are required to develop strategy and build robots based on engineering principles. Applicants must be entering grades 9-12. Chickasaw preference is exercised.
  • Chickasaw Nation Residents Chickasaws At‑Large
    This program provides high-quality tutoring services to students in a content specific, one-on-one virtual environment. Applicants must be Chickasaw students in grades K-12 enrolled in a public, charter or accredited private school or postsecondary students enrolled in a nationally-accredited public, private or online college or university. Homeschool students may also apply.
  • Chickasaw Nation Residents
    Workforce training and experience prepares students to enter the workforce. Skill development includes job shadowing, mentoring, leadership opportunities, job training, life skills education and Chickasaw Nation curriculum. Applicants must be a citizen of a federally recognized tribe, with Chickasaw preference, ages 14-21. Additional eligibility requirements apply.
